MRO Coordinator
Position Summary
A growing food manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced MRO Coordinator to support maintenance and plant operations. This position will be responsible for managing the purchasing, inventory, scheduling, and tracking of maintenance, repair, and operations parts and supplies. The MRO Coordinator will coordinate preventative maintenance schedules, work orders, spare parts inventory, and maintenance staffing to support equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and help ensure production schedules are met. This role will work closely with Maintenance, Operations, Supply Chain, and Scheduling teams to ensure the facility has the necessary parts, supplies, and services to operate efficiently. The position will also serve as the department's primary ERP system power user and point of contact for maintenance-related system and data management. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented self-starter who can manage multiple priorities and has an interest in purchasing, inventory management, scheduling, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage purchasing of maintenance, repair, operations parts, supplies, and regularly ordered plant items.
- Create, maintain, and track maintenance work orders and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Review weekly production schedules and identify optimal times for planned maintenance activities.
- Communicate maintenance schedules, parts availability, shortages, and potential production impacts to Supply Chain and Operations.
- Coordinate maintenance staffing to effectively utilize labor for preventative maintenance, standard work orders, and emergency repairs.
- Maintain accurate spare parts inventory and assist with establishing appropriate minimum and maximum inventory levels for critical parts.
- Partner with Engineering and Maintenance leadership to maintain an organized spare parts and fabrication inventory system.
- Review purchase orders for accuracy, correct errors, and receive materials against POs in the system.
- Serve as the department's ERP system power user and support accurate system and data management.
- Maintain maintenance KPIs, reports, and other data used to measure department effectiveness.
- Participate in forecasting, planning, and cross-functional meetings as needed.
- Address questions and concerns throughout the purchasing and maintenance scheduling process.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across purchasing, inventory, scheduling, and maintenance processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Maintenance, Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, or a related field with 3+ years of food or beverage procurement experience preferred; or 5+ years of related industry experience.
- Experience with system and data management; ERP experience strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical, reporting, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
