MRO Buyer Planner - Chicopee, MA

About the role

Callaway Golf Company is a premium golf equipment, gear and apparel company. This position works within the company's procurement department, focusing on negotiating pricing, contract management, and inventory control.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate pricing on purchases for all parts, suppliers and services
• Perform contract amendments and extensions
• Work with suppliers and internal customers to resolve pertinent issues
• Closely work with Accounts Payable to resolve any invoicing interruptions
• Maintain proper contract documentation and files
• Identify and evaluate cost savings opportunities
• Identify and recommend procurement process improvements
• Integral part of Purchase Order Verification (POV) process; confirm PO placement, confirm delivery date and expedite delivery problems
• Clerical functions for expedite and verification of receipt of purchase orders, as well as acceptance of the terms and conditions, on-doc date, price, delivery address, etc.
• Become the on-site SRM super user keeping updated on all changes/upgrades
• Act as a backup support for buyers in Monterrey and Carlsbad
• Work towards improvements for process efficiencies
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

Technical Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

• Must be able to read, write and understand English
• Experience in using computerized purchasing and materials management systems
• Experience with SAP enterprise resource planning systems a plus

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field
• 4 to 6 years of buying experience, preferably for maintenance, repair and operating supplies

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

• Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles
• Regular standing and walking for long periods
• Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
• May require wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Follows standardized processes
