MRI Technologist Senior | West Penn Hospital

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs all essential job responsibilities of a MRI Technologist, including but not limited to, performing age-specific diagnostic imaging per established protocols.
• Effectively communicates and interacts with patients, physicians and other team members. Addresses patient and physician concerns. Responds to adverse events and/or any changes with patient's status.
• Acts as a day-to-day mentor/resource for staff and others within the department. Orients and trains new staff and students.
• Performs and/or trains others relative to quality assurance activities, quality control, and regulatory testing and accreditation preparation/documentation.
• Demonstrates proficiency in the performance of specialty exams and analyzes data promptly to resolve problems and improve efficiency. Enter new or edit existing MRI scanner protocols.
• Participates in standardization activities and process improvement initiatives with system-level workgroups.
• Coverage of chief tech duties, as assigned.
• Performs other duties, as assigned.

  QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required: Associate degree in healthcare or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school or six months to one-year related experience and/or training or equivalent education and experience.
  • CPR – American Heart Association.
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare.
