MRI Technologist - Radiology
About the role
Perform MRI examinations for evaluation by research activities in the Center for Clinical Imaging Research (CCIR) in the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR).
Be willing to learn and utilize new MR imaging technologies to help educate and train research and clinical technologists/personnel.
Consult and work with CCIR personnel to implement best practices to create and maintain efficient, world-class support of CCIR-based projects and infrastructure.
Maintain & accommodate changes in schedule to provide maximum flexibility & utilization of CCIR resources.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform MRI scans on the subjects enrolled in the research studies approved by WashU in an organized and timely fashion.
- Render appropriate patient triage & care and provide guidance for the MRI procedures during the process.
- Develop and maintain research records in an accurate and timely manner, including the collection and management of electronic and digital data, burning disks when required.
- Facilitate data transfer to various computer platforms and software programs using IT management tools; ensure that HIPPA regulations are maintained in data transfer and rapidly notify the CCIR management of any violation or computer performance issue that may compromise HIPPA procedures.
- Establish and maintain strong communication and feedback paths with other CCIR staff and R&D groups, including (if needed) participation in monitoring visits conducted by the research study sponsor and/or regulatory agency by providing clarification, research data and reports.

Education
- Required Qualifications: A diploma, certification or degree is not required. Certifications/Professional Licenses: Basic Life Support - American Heart Association, Basic Life Support - American Red Cross, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
