About the role
The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using magnetic resonance technology. This includes preparing patients, positioning them for scans, operating the MRI equipment, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for MRI procedures, explaining the process and addressing any concerns.
- Position patients appropriately for scans, ensuring accurate and high-quality images.
- Operate MRI equipment, adjusting settings as necessary to achieve optimal results.
- Monitor patients during scans, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Document patient information and scan details accurately in medical records.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to interpret and report on MRI findings.
Requirements
- A degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field from an accredited program.
- Current state certification as an MRI Technologist.
- Experience in MRI procedures, preferably in a clinical setting.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift and move patients as needed.
