About the Role
Performs MRI procedures to produce diagnostic images, working independently with limited supervision. Provides patient instruction, maintains accurate documentation, and ensures image quality. May perform high-level MRI studies such as cardiac and procedural scans.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic MRI procedures following physician orders
- Prepare patients, position them, and operate MRI equipment
- Ensure safety protocols and manage contrast media administration
- Evaluate image quality and assist with interventional procedures
- Maintain detailed records and documentation
- Supervise allied health students and radiology aides
- Support department needs and respond to emergencies with basic life support as needed
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited radiography or MRI program
- ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification, with ongoing credentialing
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience preferred; new graduates considered
- CPR/BLS certification within 90 days is required
