Role Overview
This position involves performing diagnostic imaging procedures, primarily MRI, on adult and pediatric patients, ensuring quality control and assisting in patient care. The technologist will prepare patients and equipment, perform studies independently, and oversee shift operations, including workflow and prioritization. They serve as a clinical resource, mentor staff, and act as a liaison between the team and supervisor. Responsibilities include problem-solving, troubleshooting, and ensuring proper supplies are maintained. In the absence of supervision, they assume supervisory duties and contribute to staff training and development.
Key Duties
- Prepare and position patients and equipment for imaging procedures
- Perform studies independently and in on-call situations
- Manage daily workflow, assignments, and troubleshoot equipment issues
- Mentor and support staff, assist with complex exams, and communicate effectively with team and supervisors
- Maintain supplies and ensure quality standards are met
Qualifications & Skills
- Associate degree or Trade School equivalency
- ARRT certification in Radiography and/or MR required
- 2-5 years of experience; supervisor experience preferred
- Licenses such as IEMA (excl MRI), RTR, CT, MR, M, BD, CI, VI, RCIS, RCES
- Strong knowledge of MRI and advanced imaging modalities, with preferred experience of 5-10 years
- CPR certification and ability to handle complex imaging procedures
