MRI Technologist- Lead

Specializes in magnetic resonance imaging scanners. Responsible for injecting patients with contrast media, such as a dye, to enhance image visibility. Uses magnetic fields in combination with contrast agents to produce diagnostic images for physicians.

Responsibilities

  • Operate MRI scanners to capture high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Administer contrast media to patients as required for imaging procedures.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during MRI procedures.
  • Collaborate with physicians to interpret and analyze imaging results.
  • Maintain accurate records of procedures and patient information.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a latex-safe environment.
  • Work rotating shifts and overtime as required.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of radiologic technology or MRI.
  • One year of radiology or MRI experience preferred; willing to cross-train.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in MR.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, or walking continuously.
  • Frequent climbing of stairs, working from elevated areas, and in confined/cramped spaces.
  • Frequent bending, twisting, squatting, pinching, and reaching overhead or in all directions.
  • Continuous use of gross and fine motor skills with fingers and hands (e.g., firm grasping, fine manipulation).
  • Frequent exertion of up to 50 lbs. of force (e.g., transferring patients, pushing wheelchairs or stretchers).
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted (infrequent).
  • Ability to maintain 20/40 vision (corrected) and good peripheral vision.
  • Ability to distinguish colors, depth perception, and maintain hearing acuity (with correction).
  • Ability to work in temperature extremes, indoors, and occasionally outdoors.
  • Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations.
  • Ability to work in a latex-safe environment and maintain tactile sensory functions.
  • Selected positions may require maintaining olfactory sensory function or physical qualification for respirator use.

Pay

Hourly pay grade: Health-29.

Schedule

Scheduled weekly hours: 40. Frequent overtime and rotating shifts required.
