MRI Technologist II : MRI

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the technical supervisor and medical director, the MRI Technologist II demonstrates proficiency in all skills required to competently perform routine and advanced MRI procedures under minimal supervision.

All MRI technologists utilize knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, and patient positioning to obtain high quality diagnostic images.

• Evaluates the technical quality of the images obtained and makes necessary corrections to optimize the exam.
• Educates the patient/family about the procedure and reports all changes in patient’s status, including initiating emergency response if required.
• Accurately documents patient information in the appropriate hospital systems.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: Associates Degree or higher. Graduate of an ARRT approved educational program in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is required. Three years of MRI experience is required, experience in an acute care environment is preferred.
• Licenses and Certifications: California State Radiologic Technologist License. American Heart Association BLS certification. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification in MRI. Valid Venipuncture Certification as required by State of California Health & Safety Code.
