Role Overview
This position is for an MRI Technologist II responsible for performing routine and specialized MRI imaging procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs MRI scans across various locations and patient populations, selecting appropriate technical factors and supporting invasive procedures under MRI guidance.
- Ensures patient safety by adhering to MR Safety protocols, preparing patients, and maintaining a safe environment.
- Supports departmental quality improvement initiatives, participates in training, and maintains equipment quality control.
- Communicates effectively with patients, documents care activities, and processes images for interpretation.
- Provides patient education, addresses concerns, and promotes a positive patient experience.
- Maintains supplies, reports equipment issues, and ensures compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications & Skills
- Associate's degree and certification in Radiologic Technology or MRI from an accredited program.
- 3-4 years of MRI experience with the ability to perform all protocols independently.
- Registered MRI technologist certification (ARRT or ARMRIT) required upon hire; internal candidates with extensive experience may be considered without certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Knowledge of MRI physics, anatomy, patient positioning, and safety standards.
- Effective communication, ability to work under stress, and adherence to ethical standards.
Skills & Abilities
- Technical proficiency with MRI equipment and procedures.
- Ability to perform transverse and cross-sectional anatomy and pathology assessments.
- Strong interpersonal skills to support patients and team collaboration.
