Position Objective
Performs MRI procedures on all age groups in accordance with established professional and departmental standards and procedures.
Essential Job Duties
- Processes MRI scan sequences; verifies demographics and technical information; checks technical quality of films.
- Participates as a member of a specialized medical team in performing specialized MRI scans of various organs and in preparing patients for specific procedures.
- Reviews pathology, surgical, and other reports to monitor patient progress and provide a means for evaluating the accuracy of MRI examinations.
- Assesses consistently the patients condition and administers first aid as required; assists physicians in cases of adverse reactions or emergencies.
- Confers with Supervisor to recommend changes, report problems and provide feedback to improve patient care, technical quality and clerical functions.
- Monitors equipment performance and reports problems to the Manager; records malfunctions as required.
- Assists in the clinical instruction of technologists and students when needed.
- Provides care for physically and mentally compromised patients.
- Prioritizes patients in work flow appropriately. Proficient in assisting the patient care team in MR sedation cases.
- Monitors compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory and policy requirements and MRI safety policy and procedures.
- Performs routine and complex MRI procedures in accordance with established safety and quality standards and the special needs of patients.
Educational/Experience Requirements
- Successful completion of a two-year radiological technology program in AMA approved educational institution
- Ability to complete initial (or as directed) competency on IV injections
- Able to complete all MR examination types including cardiac pace maker, pediatric and anesthesia supported cases.
Required License/Certifications
- Certification by American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT)
- CPR BLS Certification

Pay Range
$43.05—$50 USD
