About the role

Akumin is a leading provider of outpatient radiology and oncology services, partnering with top hospitals and health systems nationwide to deliver advanced diagnostic imaging and exceptional patient care close to home. This is a full-time position at our Mt. Dora facility.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure patient safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications, aseptic injection technique, and remote MR Technologist Assistant oversight.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic MR images; operation of multiple MR systems may be required.
  • Demonstrate effective communication with radiologists, team members, patients, and customers, particularly in mobile environments.
  • Train and orient new technologists, patient coordinators, and MR Technologist Assistants, both on-site and remotely.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Registered Technologist by the ARRT, NMTCB, or ARMRIT; MR registration required if overseeing MR Technologist Assistants. ARMRIT certification accepted per customer contract. If billing Medicare, registry in Magnetic Resonance is required.
  • MR registered technologist: R.T. (MR) ARRT or ARMRIT.
  • Technologist registered in other modalities.
  • 3 months of supervised MRI clinical scanning experience OR currently enrolled for more than 6 months in an accredited MRI training program.
  • State license as a Licensed Radiologic Technologist or Magnetic Resonance Technologist, if applicable.
  • CPR Certification; BLS upon hire, ACLS within 90 days of employment, if applicable.
  • Active State Driver’s License, required for technologists performing mid-day moves.
  • COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
  • Local travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1 year of Magnetic Resonance Imaging experience.
  • Registry in Magnetic Resonance by the ARRT.
