About the role
We are looking for a full-time MRI Technologist to join our mobile imaging team, traveling to correctional facilities in Beacon, Coxsackie, Malone, Alden, Rome, Romulus, and Elmira, New York. The standard work week is five days, Monday through Friday, though your schedule may vary based on route assignments and backup coverage needs. This position may require travel up to 100% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Operate magnetic resonance imaging machines and create diagnostic images of patients according to physicians’ instructions.
- Document patients' health histories, prepare them for scans, and keep them relaxed and comfortable during the procedure.
- Follow referring physicians' orders and protocols, including administering prescribed medications.
- Use knowledge of imaging techniques and cross-sectional anatomy to produce high-quality images for interpretation by radiologists and other medical professionals.
- Transfer images and verify that images and patient information are correctly received.
- Comply with safety and quality procedures, including following safety policies, reporting hazards, and participating in safety initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- PC proficiency to access job-related internet websites, review online documentation, and use Microsoft Office Suite products.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, as well as analytical, critical thinking, organizational, and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently, follow instructions in stressful environments, and interact effectively with a variety of personalities.
- ARRT certification and CPR certification.
- State licensure if required.
- Mandatory vaccinations, titers, or declinations: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella (Chickenpox), Hepatitis B Series, Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis), annual Influenza vaccine, COVID-19 vaccination (if required by facility policy), and Tuberculosis screening (annual or per facility guidelines).
Physical Demands
- Stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, and crawl.
- Climb up and down stairs.
- Push and pull wheelchairs.
- Carry and lift, including moving non-ambulatory patients from sitting or lying positions for transfer or exam.
- Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
