MRI Technician

About the role

The MRI Technician position at Ottumwa Regional Health Center is a vital role in providing exceptional care to patients. This role requires a strong educational background and certification.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient history and physician’s orders.
• Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure their understanding and cooperation.
• Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within the scope of practice.
• Maintains continuous monitoring of patient conditions and responds to changes in status.
• Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters, positions patients, and performs imaging procedures.
• Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology or related field preferred; Graduate of a Program in Discipline required.
• ARRT Certification; MRI board certification preferred; Iowa State Radiation Operators License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
