Job Description Summary
Prepares patients for examination, executes specialty radiologic examinations, reviews patient medical records, cross-trains in other specialties, inspects films, assists in training new technologists, operates equipment safely, reports malfunctions, maintains supplies, completes exam data entry, and attends staff meetings.
Responsibilities
- Positions and executes specialty radiologic examinations
- Verifies physician's order on patient medical records before examination
- Cross-trains in other specialty areas/departments/facilities
- Monitors films for quality and ensures correct patient information
- Aids in training new technologists and technical assistants
- Operates specialized equipment safely and demonstrates competency
- Maintains and stocks room with necessary supplies
- Completes exam data entry and paperwork
- Attends monthly department staff meetings
Qualifications
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (MR)
- Holds a current Florida General Radiographer license from the Florida Department of Health, Division of Medical Quality Assurance (if performing Radiographic procedures)
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Graduate of an AMA Accredited Educational Radiologic Technology Program for Radiologic Technology or equivalent
- One year of clinical experience
