About the Role
Our MRI Technologists work in a team setting to provide individualized patient care to a diverse patient population. They work directly with patients to obtain medical history, ensure a safe environment near the magnet, and capture the necessary images for radiologist interpretation.
Schedule
Full-Time, 0.9 FTE / 36 hours per week
- Monday: 8:30 AM – 7:00 PM
- Tuesday: Off
- Wednesday/Thursday/Friday: 9:30 AM – 7:00 PM
Requirements
- Graduate of an A.M.A. approved radiologic technology school (required)
- ARRT (MR) licensure (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
- 1+ years of experience as an MRI Technologist (preferred)
- Proficiency with GE MRI equipment (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Acquire appropriate MRI images for interpretation by a supervising radiologist
- Start IVs on patients requiring contrast
- Assess patient ability to comply with physical exam requirements, take medical histories, and explain procedures accurately
- Demonstrate knowledge of general anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and team members in a collaborative and professional manner
- Screen patients for potential safety hazards prior to exams
- Maintain quality control of images
- Adapt to patient abilities and limitations to obtain required images
- Maintain stock and supplies necessary for department functions
- Multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ensure safe operation of equipment at all times
- Perform other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
This position is classified as Medium Work, requiring the exertion of up to 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to pass a background check, pre-employment physical, and drug testing. Any job offer is contingent upon successful completion of these requirements and obtaining active licensures.
