About the role
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technologists utilize the resonant frequency properties of atoms within a magnetic field to image anatomic and/or physiologic conditions of the body to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease. MR technologists perform diagnostic magnetic resonance examinations in accordance with all prescribed standards under the direct guidance of the supervising Radiologist. MR Technologists provide patient care to all age groups to include neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics. Adheres to all safety requirements for magnetic safety. Demonstrates ability to perform advanced MR imaging procedures and is competent/proficient with cross-sectional anatomy and physiology. Provides more complex technical care necessary to meet identified patient needs.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic magnetic resonance examinations in accordance with prescribed standards under the direct guidance of the supervising Radiologist.
- Provide patient care to all age groups (neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics).
- Adhere to all safety requirements for magnetic safety.
- Demonstrate ability to perform advanced MR imaging procedures.
- Show competency/proficiency with cross-sectional anatomy and physiology.
- Provide complex technical care to meet patient needs.
Requirements
- Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program or graduate of a JRCERT-accredited hospital-based training program.
- 1 year of experience as an MRI Technologist.
Qualifications
- ARRT Radiography Certification (Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiography (R) and MRI (MR)) upon hire.
- Advanced certification by the ARRT in MRI (MR) upon hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
