Job Description
Overview
The MRI Tech performs complex diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures, as requested by a licensed physician. The MRI Tech produces high quality diagnostic images while providing excellent patient care.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited school of MRI
- PREFERRED EDUCATION: Associate degree in Allied Health or Bachelor’s Degree and certification in another clinical imaging field
- Minimum Experience: 6 months in Magnetic Resonance Imaging with supervised clinical experience. Possesses working knowledge of cross section anatomy and MR pathology.
- PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 2-5 years in MRI
- Required Certifications/Licenses: Possession of American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiology or (ARMRIT) registry eligible according to ACR guidelines. Must be registered as a MR Technologist within one year post graduation of accredited school. If Registered with ARRT in ionizing radiation, must possess current Texas Medical Board (TMB) license.
- PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: ARRT in MRI
- Required Courses/Completions: Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
