Responsibilities

  • Supervise assigned personnel and effectively staff the imaging section(s).
  • Evaluate performance and make recommendations for personnel actions.
  • Motivate employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
  • Ensure efficient workflow in the section by getting patients started on time and minimizing room turnaround time.
  • Organize work to respond quickly to changes in workload.
  • Supervise personnel including interviewing, work allocation, orientation, training, staff development, problem resolution, evaluating performance, making recommendations for personnel actions, and motivating employees to achieve peak performance.
  • Complete assignments independently and work as part of a team; follow instructions from supervisors; exercise problem-solving skills; interact professionally with co-workers, supervisors, patients, vendors, and the public.
  • May have access to radiopharmaceuticals, contrast agents, and other non-controlled medications as appropriate to diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Participate in current and future Radiology Department CQI monitoring and implement changes accordingly.
  • Assist in collecting data, reviewing, and revising the CQI program to be in compliance with accrediting agencies, hospital goals, departmental Policies and Procedures.
  • Facilitate and participate in ongoing CQI.
  • Continuously improve leadership abilities.
  • Establish relationships with other supervisors throughout MHS to develop a network and mentoring opportunities.
  • Develop relationships with other departments within MHS and look for opportunities for integration or interaction.
  • Support the mission and vision of the Methodist Healthcare System and demonstrate excellent customer service at all times.
  • Report any activity that appears to violate applicable laws, rules, regulations, or the Code of Conduct.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of Accredited School of MRI. Associate of Science or Higher preferred but not required.
  • Experience: Four years MRI experience. Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility, and department/unit.
  • Preferred: One year of leadership/supervisory or management experience.
  • Required: ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT. Texas Medical Board License. BLS (American Red Cross).
