Responsibilities
- Supervise assigned personnel and effectively staff the imaging section(s).
- Evaluate performance and make recommendations for personnel actions.
- Motivate employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
- Ensure efficient workflow in the section by getting patients started on time and minimizing room turnaround time.
- Organize work to respond quickly to changes in workload.
- Supervise personnel including interviewing, work allocation, orientation, training, staff development, problem resolution, evaluating performance, making recommendations for personnel actions, and motivating employees to achieve peak performance.
- Complete assignments independently and work as part of a team; follow instructions from supervisors; exercise problem-solving skills; interact professionally with co-workers, supervisors, patients, vendors, and the public.
- May have access to radiopharmaceuticals, contrast agents, and other non-controlled medications as appropriate to diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Participate in current and future Radiology Department CQI monitoring and implement changes accordingly.
- Assist in collecting data, reviewing, and revising the CQI program to be in compliance with accrediting agencies, hospital goals, departmental Policies and Procedures.
- Facilitate and participate in ongoing CQI.
- Continuously improve leadership abilities.
- Establish relationships with other supervisors throughout MHS to develop a network and mentoring opportunities.
- Develop relationships with other departments within MHS and look for opportunities for integration or interaction.
- Support the mission and vision of the Methodist Healthcare System and demonstrate excellent customer service at all times.
- Report any activity that appears to violate applicable laws, rules, regulations, or the Code of Conduct.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of Accredited School of MRI. Associate of Science or Higher preferred but not required.
- Experience: Four years MRI experience. Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility, and department/unit.
- Preferred: One year of leadership/supervisory or management experience.
- Required: ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT. Texas Medical Board License. BLS (American Red Cross).
