Medical Lab Tech
About the role
Simple Laboratories is searching for a Full-time Medical Lab Tech for our on-site downtown Chicago hospital location to perform lab tests in Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology/Serology, Clinical Microscopy and Microbiology. The ideal candidate has worked within a hospital environment and can work both independently and collaboratively for optimization of results.
Responsibilities
- Accurately process, analyze and report laboratory results with limited supervision while maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Understand quality control monitoring, computer applications, and troubleshoot when necessary.
- Follow the laboratory's established policies and procedures.
- Perform a variety of routine and special laboratory procedures as authorized by the Manager or Director, including rotation through at least three (3) areas of the Clinical Lab: Hematology, Chemistry, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Immunology/Serology, and Microbiology.
- Operate laboratory equipment and instruments; record data and maintain equipment.
- Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance performed.
- Use universal safety precautions to protect self and co-workers from bio-hazardous materials, including blood-borne pathogens.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Molecular Biology or Chemistry.
- MLS, MLT license/certificate, ASCP/AMT.
- Minimum of one (1) year clinical laboratory experience.
