Responsibilities
- Oversees and assists team members in assigned functional area, ensuring key deliverables and quality standards are met
- Addresses and resolves challenges, manages and tracks performance, and assists in time management and scheduling; escalates issues to senior leaders as needed
- Obtains clinical history and informed consent from patients or patient charts to assist physicians in optimizing exam performance and interpretation
- Coordinates new team member and student department orientation and training
- Assists with patient and team member scheduling to enhance department productivity
- Maintains an orderly, safe, and clean environment for patients and staff
- Ensures procedure rooms are stocked with appropriate supplies
- Operates imaging and related equipment according to manufacturer specifications
- Troubleshoots equipment effectively and reports issues to Biomedical Engineering/Vendor
- Performs and documents routine quality control testing of equipment
- Performs or recognizes the need for routine maintenance of image processors to maintain consistent image quality
- May perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- Certification in Basic Life Support upon start
- Certification by at least one of the following: ARRT, RDMS, RVT, ARMRIT, CAMRT, or NMTCB, with additional certification in an applicable imaging modality required upon start
- State licensure as required by the state of employment if working at an Inova Health System freestanding Imaging Center not affiliated with one of the Inova hospitals
- Three years of imaging experience in an applicable modality (X-Ray, Ultrasound, CT, Mammography, MRI, Interventional Radiology, or Nuclear Medicine) in a hospital or healthcare environment, with recent hospital experience
- Graduate of an accredited school/program of radiography, Nuclear Medicine, or MRI certification from ARMRIT or CAMRT
