About the role
Responsible for operating MRI and CT scanners to produce diagnostic images for patients across all age groups in an outpatient setting. Ensures patient safety by screening for contraindications and explaining procedures. Reviews physician orders, selects appropriate equipment, positions patients, and organizes images for transfer to PACS system. Performs minor maintenance on MRI equipment and reports larger issues to the Chief Technologist. Maintains adherence to safety protocols and departmental policies.
Responsibilities
- Review orders and gather relevant medical information
- Screen patients and explain procedures clearly
- Select proper pads, coils, and positioning
- Examine images, adjust parameters, and organize files
- Perform scans and maintain equipment
- Provide patient education and support, demonstrating professionalism and empathy
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Registered Technologist (RT) in MRI and CT
- Current CPR certification
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create a calm, respectful environment
