MRB Team Lead
Working Pattern: Hybrid/Onsite in office 3 days/week in Indianapolis, IN. Relocation assistance available.
About the Role
As an MRB Team Lead, you will serve as a Deputy to the MRB Design Tech Lead, focusing on planning, tracking, and closure of key build non-conformance tickets. You will manage the tracking, resourcing, and closure of individual concessions and major projects (e.g., PPRs, major supply disruptions) across internal and external supply chains as part of the MRB/Production Improvement Engineering (PIE) team. This role includes leading a team of 14+ outsourced, temporary, and rotational engineers while providing design and project engineering support for production parts from internal plants and vendors. The team is co-located with operations at the Excellence Building, offering opportunities to interface directly with manufacturing and assembly teams.
Responsibilities
- Track, resource, and drive to closure a variety of concessions at various stages of the MRB process to ensure timely resolution.
- Manage and coordinate a 14+ person team, including outsourced, rotational, and on-loan engineers, while monitoring team metrics.
- Coordinate between PIE, Engine Program Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality organizations to prioritize "slow-moving work-in-progress" items and maintain delivery focus.
- Proactively work with Supply Chain/Purchasing to ensure external suppliers address non-conformances accurately and promptly.
- Identify system bottlenecks and seek resolutions before they impact engine build lines.
- Develop, monitor, and maintain team KPIs and additional metrics based on customer requests.
- Serve as the lead for major engineering support issues, such as PPRs, ongoing build stops, and overarching projects.
- Interface with Engine Program Engineering to minimize impact on external customers by prioritizing manufacturing improvements.
- Track, resource, and coordinate Tool Layout (TLO) activities as requested.
- Identify and lead improvement projects to enhance factory workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5+ years of experience, OR
- Master’s degree and 3+ years of experience, OR
- JD/Ph.D.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen to be eligible for consideration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering degree.
- Familiarity with the Rolls-Royce Indianapolis MRB Web App and general MRB processes.
- Experience with Rolls-Royce Indianapolis Manufacturing and Quality processes.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Experience as a Project or Validation & Verification Engineer on production and/or development programs.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams through complex engineering challenges.
- Ability to make sound decisions with limited information.
- Project Management experience in planning, controlling budgets, and driving schedules.
- Engineering and technical competence sufficient for decision-making commensurate with the role.
- Experience applying Systems approach or equivalent (e.g., Robust Design Lead, Black Belt).
- Experience leading an Engineering team.

Pay
$122,741 - $199,454 annually.
