About the role
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Structural Engineer/Principal Structural Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals located in Iuka, MS. This position is a 4/10 Second Shift position.
Responsibilities
- Develop and document detailed structural analyses in support of aircraft repairs including but not limited to free body diagrams, internal or external loading, shear and moment diagrams, and calculation of internal stresses.
- Analyses will be in support of Material Review Board (MRB), and Aircraft Structural Integrity Program (ASIP).
- Aircraft structural design criteria, and nonstandard repair and equivalent strength analysis background is a plus.
- Collaborate in a team environment, mentor less experienced personnel, prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish the project result, prioritize multiple responsibilities and/or accomplish them simultaneously, comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions.
- Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution System/ MES, and a Northrop Grumman MRB EN/ST signature is a plus.
Requirements
- Structural Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with a minimum of 2 years’ experience to include a background in aerospace structural analysis or Master’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with a minimum of 0 years' experience to include a background in aerospace structural analysis.
- Principal Structural Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with a minimum of 5 years’ experience to include a background in aerospace structural analysis; or Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 3 years’ experience to include a background in aerospace structural analysis.
Qualifications
- Experience with MRB related activities.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
- Ability to work 2nd shift and/or Weekend shift.
Skills
- Master's degree in Engineering (ME/AE) with minimum of 9 years of experience in structural analysis.
- Experience working on an ASIP managed platform.
- Experience with crack growth software-AFGROW.
- Familiarity with FEMAP/NX Nastran.
- Experience with the development of dispositions for Airframe discrepancies.
- Experience with performing repairs on primary structure made of composite materials.
Pay
Primary Level Salary Range: $75,100.00 - $112,700.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $93,300.00 - $139,900.00
