Position Details

This position is ideal for an experienced Movement Disorders specialist with a focus on continuing efforts in research and clinical trials. The role provides protected time to pursue research and grant-supported projects to further advance and identify outcomes and treatments in the field of Movement Disorders through the Research Department on the University of Reno, School of Medicine campus labs and facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately diagnose movement disorders and develop comprehensive management plans
  • Incorporate various therapeutic options including medications, injections, and deep brain stimulation
  • Collaborate with the Neurosurgeon for Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) procedures for prospective patients
  • Provide programming, optimize, and long-term monitoring for DBS patients
  • Foster the teaching of residents and medical students from the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine

Requirements

  • Board Eligible/Board Certified in Movement Disorder Neurology
  • Experience in clinical research trials and translational research
  • Access to Renown Neurology’s PhD Neuropsychologist and Psychometrist
  • Direct access to Epic EMR

Qualifications

  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of Movement Disorders
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Passionate about advancing research and treatment in Movement Disorders

Outpatient schedule: Monday – Friday, 8a to 5p; 4/10 schedule option available

Renown Health and University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine (UNR Med) are recruiting a Board Eligible/Board Certified Movement Disorder Neurology specialist. Renown's physicians foster the teaching of residents and medical students from The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine. Renown Regional houses The Institute of Neurosciences and is a Joint Commission accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center and NAEC Level III accredited Epilepsy Center.
