Move Manager / HPM

About the role

The Move Manager develops and executes move schedules to meet client and project team needs, coordinates move contractors, writes and facilitates mover RFPs, and provides on-site support during moves.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and process client move requests
  • Serve as the single point of contact for all move management activities
  • Facilitate project kick-off meetings with internal staff and key stakeholders to ensure responsibilities are communicated and understood
  • Participate in planning meetings hosted by the client, occupancy planning, and other key stakeholders
  • Establish move project goals and objectives, adjusting as needed to ensure desired results
  • Develop and implement move project plans and budgets in collaboration with the project manager
  • Prepare and update project status reports, process purchase orders and invoices, update tracking reports, and maintain files for due diligence and financials
  • Demonstrate a proactive focus on meeting client and project requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Prepare RFPs for vendor and contractor services
  • Initiate and manage meetings to review move schedules with move vendors and key stakeholders
  • Identify and address areas of concern regarding potential liabilities and risk
  • Ensure move processes align with client policies and procedures
  • Manage supporting suppliers as needed
  • Evaluate vendors to ensure compliance with performance standards
  • Develop and deliver project-specific reporting
  • Procure and manage move labor

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Building Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • 3–5 years of experience coordinating moves within a large, corporate environment
  • Knowledge of building codes, furniture systems, and equipment related to move management
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Valid Driver’s License

Physical Demands and Working Environment

The role is primarily office-based with extensive public contact and frequent interruptions. Essential functions require:

  • Sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting, stand or sit for prolonged periods, and occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, or twist
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull light to moderate amounts of weight
  • Repetitive hand movement and fine coordination, including keyboard use
  • Travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation
  • Verbal communication to exchange information
  • Normal visual and audio range with or without correction
