About the role
The Snowmaking Supervisor is responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, and supervision of all snowmaking equipment and processes. Key responsibilities include performing maintenance and repairs on snowmaking and related equipment, assisting with capital projects, leading a team of part-time seasonal employees, and operating various equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs on snowmaking and related equipment
- Aid with various capital projects
- Work on slopes, trails, drainage, and trees
- Collaborate with and assist other departments as needed
- Operate UTVs, trucks, tractors, and snowmaking equipment
- Create high-quality snow using snowmaking equipment
- Supervise part-time seasonal employees during the snowmaking season
- Work in adverse weather conditions including wind, snow, and ice
- Communicate effectively and follow instructions
- Show dependability and good work ethic
- Operate various pieces of equipment including snowmaking machines
- Lead and manage a team of seasonal employees
Requirements
- Skills in mechanics, hydraulics, electronics, and equipment operation
- Experience with snowmaking equipment and water pumping
- Welding experience is a plus
- Supervisory and leadership skills
Qualifications
- Full-time, benefited position
- $20-25 hourly wage
- Open availability Monday through Sunday, including weekends and holidays
- Rotating shift schedule with some days off
- Primarily outside work year-round
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking on slippery and/or uneven snow or icy surfaces
- Safety training and personal protective equipment provided
