Moulder Set-Up Operator

Responsibilities

• Set up and change over moulder machines for various wood profiles and production runs
• Install and align cutter heads, knives, and tooling according to specifications
• Adjust machine settings to meet precise profile and dimension requirements
• Read and interpret work orders, shop drawings, and profile specifications
• Perform test runs and verify first-piece quality before full production
• Troubleshoot setup issues and make adjustments to ensure product accuracy
• Monitor machine performance and collaborate with operators during production
• Perform routine maintenance checks and assist with minor mechanical repairs
• Maintain organized tooling and ensure proper storage of knives and setup components
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
• Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members regarding setup status and issues

Qualifications

• 2+ years of machine set-up experience in a manufacturing environment (wood industry preferred)
• Experience operating or setting up a moulder is strongly preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine components
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Able to read and follow technical drawings, work orders, and setup sheets
• Comfortable using measuring tools (calipers, tape measures, etc.)
• Able to follow directions and work independently
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Reliable attendance and dependable transportation
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Frequent bending, lifting, and reaching
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing/shop environment

Pay

Competitive Hourly Pay, DOE.
