About the role

We are looking for a skilled Motor Winder with expertise in AC (Alternating Current) and/or DC (Direct Current) motor winding to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will wind coils for AC and DC motors, ensuring the process meets strict quality, safety, and performance standards. You will work with copper wire and use specialized winding machines and hand tools to produce motor windings for a wide range of applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of motor construction and winding techniques, attention to detail, and experience with both AC and DC motors.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate winding machines and hand tools to wind stator and rotor coils for AC and DC motors, ensuring precise coil winding patterns and correct wire placement.
  • Handle copper wire, insulation materials, and other components, ensuring proper handling, cutting, and spooling as per specifications.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, motor blueprints, and technical drawings to determine winding specifications such as number of turns, coil dimensions, and wire gauge.
  • Inspect wound coils for defects, such as improper winding tension, wire misalignment, or insulation issues, and perform testing to ensure coils meet required electrical and mechanical specifications.
  • Set up winding equipment for different motor types and sizes, and perform regular maintenance and cleaning of winding machines and tools to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to winding machinery, material handling, or motor assembly.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment (PPE) while working with electrical components, winding machines, and other tools.
  • Keep accurate records of production, including winding specifications, motor assembly details, and testing results.
  • Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to ensure timely and efficient production of high-quality motors.
