MOT Manager
Job Description
Develop, review, and manage comprehensive MOT plans aligned with project phasing, safety goals, and GDOT requirements.
Cook up close with construction teams, engineering, utilities, subcontractors, and local/state agencies to plan and execute traffic control activities.
Supervise daily implementation of lane closures, detours, flagging operations, and traffic shifts.
Ensure full compliance with MUTCD, GDOT specifications, and local permitting requirements.
Monitor field conditions and proactively address safety concerns or deviations from MOT plans.
Maintain all required documentation, including daily MOT reports, inspection logs, and incident tracking.
Participate in joint venture coordination meetings and provide input on phasing and public impacts.
Train and mentor field staff and subcontractors on traffic control safety, standards, and updates.
Serve as a liaison with law enforcement and emergency responders for traffic operations coordination.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of MOT or traffic control management experience on large highway or infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated knowledge of GDOT standards, MUTCD, and relevant federal/state work zone regulations.
- Certified MOT Manager, ATTSA Traffic Control Technician/Supervisor, and/or TCS (Traffic Control Supervisor) certification required or equivalent certification approved by GDOT.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills; capable of managing field teams in a dynamic, high-traffic environment.
- Familiarity with traffic control plan development tools (AutoCAD preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license with flexibility for night/weekend work as project needs require.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on large Design-Build transportation projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- GDOT ATTSA Traffic Control Technician/Supervisor, and/or TCS (Traffic Control Supervisor) certification and OSHA 30 certification.
