About the role
The Mortgage Tax & Escrow Specialist 2 supports mortgage servicing operations by researching, validating, and maintaining property tax and HOA information for residential mortgage loans. This role involves detailed analysis and investigation of tax and HOA-related records, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of servicing activities.
Responsibilities
- Research and validate property tax and HOA information associated with mortgage loans.
- Review vendor-supplied data for completeness and accuracy and identify discrepancies requiring correction or escalation.
- Maintain mortgage tax records and monitor active tax service activities.
- Support timely and accurate tax disbursement processes for escrow and non-escrow accounts.
- Investigate potential HOA liens and determine appropriate actions to support risk mitigation and lien protection efforts.
- Respond to customer, attorney, vendor, and internal business line inquiries related to tax and HOA matters.
- Partner with vendors and external stakeholders to resolve incomplete, inaccurate, or missing information.
- Provide supporting documentation and research findings to facilitate issue resolution.
- Complete assigned work in accordance with established service level agreements and quality standards.
- Participate in cross-training opportunities and support additional tax-related operational functions as business needs require.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One to two years of experience in mortgage servicing, financial services operations, tax servicing, escrow administration, title, lien research, or a related operational environment.
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Mortgage servicing experience.
- Property tax, escrow, HOA, title, lien, default servicing, or real estate-related experience.
- Experience reviewing complex documentation and researching public or vendor-supplied records.
- Experience working with third-party vendors and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a highly regulated environment.
Location
This role is expected to be onsite 3 (three) days a week at our Tamarack Rd- Owensboro, KY office.
