Mortgage Sales - Mortgage Banking Assistant Team Lead
About the role
The ideal candidate will lead and support a team of Mortgage Banker Assistants, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
Responsibilities
- Aid in loan documentation preparation and coordination with applicants, Mortgage Bankers, Processors, Underwriters, and external parties.
- Maintain compliance with all lending regulations, including TRID rules, and ensure all disclosures are accurate and timely.
- Facilitate weekly/monthly team meetings and assess/revise origination policies and procedures for efficiency.
- Hire, train, coach, and manage Mortgage Banker Assistants, ensuring they meet departmental goals and comply with bank policies.
- Oversee timecard management, time-off requests, coverage, and overflow support, ensuring compliance with department policy.
- Work closely with Mortgage Banker Sales Managers, Mortgage Bankers, and operational support staff to optimize workflow and address any training or process gaps.
- Manage the Mortgage Banker Assistant team's performance and ensure all tasks are completed within deadlines.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of mortgage experience.
- Possess or be able to obtain a National Mortgage Licensing System number.
Desired Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
- Five (5) years of residential mortgage experience strongly preferred.

Work Environment
