Mortgage Processor

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provides members and Real Estate Lending personnel with quality mortgage loan processing according to the credit union's policies, practices, and procedures.
• Keeps abreast of all Fannie Mae underwriting guidelines as required.
• Prepares loan underwriting package for submission to underwriter.
• Obtains all needed deposit, income & employment verifications for loan packages.
• Orders appraisals, if applicable, flood determinations, and private mortgage insurance.
• Collaborates with members, realtors, attorneys, sellers, and appraisal management firms.
• Requests payoffs and updated insurance declaration pages showing the desired mortgagee clause.
• Complies with Credit Union Policies and Procedures, as well as regulatory compliance.
• Provides back-up to other Real Estate Lending staff as needed.
• Assumes other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

• Education/Certification & Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience processing conventional and government loans
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of real estate lending criteria, compliance, and federal/state regulations
• Skills/Abilities: Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment typical of Mortgage Banking
• Experience with Microsoft Word & Excel
• Experience with Calyx Point, Meridian Link/Loans PQ, or Encompass Software
