Compensation: $80,000–$90,000, based on experience
About the role
Oversee the day-to-day operations of a residential lending team, ensuring loan transactions are completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Provide leadership to lending and support staff while assisting with complex lending scenarios and maintaining a high standard of service.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the lending department and assigned team members
- Lead, coach, and develop lending and support staff to achieve departmental goals and service standards
- Review loan applications and make lending decisions within established authority levels
- Evaluate loan files and determine appropriate actions, including approvals, requests for additional information, or denials
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and internal lending policies and procedures
- Monitor loan pipelines, workflow, productivity, and key performance metrics
- Assist in resolving escalated member or customer concerns and complex lending situations
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external business partners
- Analyze financial information, credit data, and risk factors to support sound lending decisions
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support process improvements, training initiatives, and documentation
- Promote adherence to organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical lending practices
- Prepare performance reports and communicate trends and operational updates to leadership
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mortgage lending, consumer lending, financial services, or a related banking environment
- At least 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of residential lending processes, loan products, underwriting principles, and credit analysis
- Working knowledge of applicable lending regulations, compliance requirements, and risk management practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field preferred
