Mortgage Loan Specialist

About the role

This full-time, on-site Mortgage Loan Specialist role is based in Raeford, NC. The Mortgage Loan Specialist will assist members with mortgage inquiries, applications, and approvals, guiding them through each step of the lending process.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate borrower financial information
• Explain mortgage products and terms
• Prepare and process loan documentation
• Ensure compliance with lending regulations and SECU policies
• Collaborate with branch staff, underwriting, and other internal teams to deliver timely, accurate service
• Support member homeownership goals
• Contribute to community-focused mortgage outreach
• Promote SECU’s mortgage offerings in a member-centric, ethical manner

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in mortgage banking or lending
• Knowledge of federal housing laws and regulations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Qualifications

• Valid NC driver’s license
• Pass a background check
• Pass a drug test

Pay

$50,000 - $60,000 annually

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
