Who We're Looking For
We are looking for a driven member-focused Mortgage Loan Originator to Join Our Team. The Ideal Candidate Will Have excellent organizational, communication, and business writing skills to clearly and effectively serve our members Demonstrate strong analytical abilities and sound judgment when evaluating loan applications and financial information Be actively registered as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) with the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS)
What You'll Be Doing
- Originate and develop a variety of residential mortgage loans, home equity loans, and lines of credit
- Build strong relationships with realtors, contractors, community partners, and other referral sources to grow mortgage business.
- Receive and manage branch referrals while independently generating new business through outreach efforts.
- Represent and promote the Credit Union difference, while identifying opportunities to connect members with additional products.

Salary
Salary: \$40,000 base pay
Additional Salary: May be eligible for variable based incentive pay up to \$20,000 monthly
Essential Functions
- Assume responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective and professional business relations with members, realtors, attorneys, and building professionals.
- Develop strategies to build a loan pipeline through member interactions, seminars, and building relationships with community partners (realtors, contractors, attorneys and other institutions).
- Attendance at community events and functions in assigned territories is expected as well as service on a board or committee within your assigned territory.
- Congduct the loan interview, securing member information and documentation necessary to initiate a loan transaction.
- Assist borrowers with the loan application process. Discuss loan options, credit criteria, interest rates, and loan documentation in such a manner as to elicit positive responses from members.
- Maintain clear and frequent communication with all essential parties throughout the loa process, following communication guidelines determined by management to ensure prompt member response.
- Clear knowledge and understanding of UDAAP, TRID, Reg. Z, TILA, ECOA, RESPA laws and regulations.
- Recommend approval or deny real-estate loan applications, and counselmembers whose loan requests were denied, explaining reasons and alternatives.
- Meet scheduling and documentation requirements, and production expectations as determined by management.
- Ensure that the credit union achieves assigned loan production goals, with an emphasis on real estate lending growth.
- Maintain contacts and good working relationships with real estate brokers, attorneys, builders and other referral sources to assure a favorable image of the organization and to provide information regarding current loan policies and procedures.
- Must maintain predictable and reliable attendance.
Qualifications
- Education: oHighschool diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: o2-5 years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory
