Mortgage Loan Originator

Key job functions

• Proactively solicit and sell residential mortgage products to meet established loan quality and production goals.
• Develop and maintain successful relationships with business referral sources, and existing and prospective clients via calls to potential or existing customers to develop new business or retain existing business.
• Transact business in conformance with state and federal regulations such as, but not limited to, RESPA, HMDA, and Fair Lending Practices.
• Consistently works in accordance to published department sales and services standards.
• Achieve established production goals.
• Maintains loan process from origination to close and provides on-going communication to customers and business partners.
• Identifies opportunities to refer customers and/or potential customers to other units of the bank to provide services that meet their needs.
• Participates in community relations efforts to contribute to the mission and visibility of the bank.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, diverse, and growth-oriented environment.
• Strong understanding of company loan policies and guidelines, as well as all federal and state regulations.
• Exceptional decision-making ability, superior written and verbal communication skills, and superb interpersonal and customer service skills required.
• Knowledge of FHA, VA, USDA, conventional, fixed/ adjustable loans, Bridge Loans, Non-Conforming Loans, FNMA and FHLMC, and Home Equity Lines of Credit.
• Detail oriented with good organizational skills and ability to create and maintain long-term relationships with current and potential customers.

Education And Experience

• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
• 3 years of mortgage origination or lending experience required.

Physical Demands

• Hearing, speech, close vision.
• Sitting, including computer use.
• Driving with own transportation to other branches for meetings/workshops.
• On occasions, may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
