What You’ll Do

  • Originate residential mortgage loans and lot, construction, and bridge loans.
  • Conduct initial pre-qualification interviews and prepare complete loan application packages and necessary documentation.
  • Convey policies for extension of credit in accordance with Credit Union and secondary investor guidelines.
  • Meet Mortgage Loan scheduling and documentation requirements, and production expectations as determined by the Regional Mortgage Sales Manager.
  • Establish prospective relationships outside the office as well as serving existing Members, builders, developers, and Realtors promptly and professionally.

What’s Needed For This Position

  • High school diploma or equivalent along with mortgage lending experience.
  • Must have either two years of mortgage loan origination experience utilizing technology and digital loan documentation processes.
  • Internal candidates, one year of mortgage experience at Royal or another financial institution.
  • NMLS Certification is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, develop, and convert sales opportunities while building strong relationships with existing and prospective Members, Realtors, builders, and community partners.
  • Strong lead generation, networking, prospecting, and outbound business development skills are essential.
  • Strong mortgage lending and financial services knowledge, including familiarity with online banking platforms, loan origination software, lending guidelines, and digital solutions.
  • Ability to educate Members on products and services while recognizing opportunities to recommend additional solutions.
  • Exceptional communication, interviewing, listening, and customer service skills with the ability to effectively present information, ask insightful questions, address concerns proactively, and create an outstanding Member experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven analytical, critical thinking, decision-making, and organizational abilities.
  • Capable of evaluating complex information, solving problems, producing accurate and high-quality work, prioritizing competing responsibilities, managing time effectively, and adapting to change while consistently meeting performance expectations.

What We’d Love To See

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or Management.
  • Five (5) years of Mortgage Loan Origination related experience.
  • Royal Credit Union experience.
  • Sales experience with growing and developing sales strategies.

Position Details

  • Full-Time, working approximately 40 hours per week.
  • Hours and shifts vary between 8am-5pm Monday through Friday, with occasional nights and weekends as needed.
  • Significant community involvement and business development efforts, with at least 50% of time spent outside the office establishing new relationships, networking, meeting with Realtors and builders, and representing Royal Credit Union in the community.
  • Training: Prior to starting a normal work schedule, new Royal team members must attend Foundation Training at our Corporate Center in Eau Claire, WI from 9:00am - 4:30pm on Monday and Tuesday during their first week of employment. Out of town learners will be reimbursed costs related to travel and lodging.
  • Foundation Training covers fundamental information about Royal’s culture and core values which sets the stage for team members to be successful within our organization.
