About the role
Orchard Mortgage is an affiliate of Orchard, dedicated to providing mortgage services to its real estate customers. This role is full-time and remote, based in the Greater Austin area, and involves attending agent networking events monthly.
Responsibilities
- Consult with clients to discuss current needs and financing solutions, focusing on Orchard Mortgage’s unique offerings like the Equity Advance loan.
- Build strong relationships with Orchard’s real estate agents to enhance the home buying experience for customers.
- Be the go-to person for all home financing-related inquiries from both customers and agents, including expertise on the Equity Advance loan and Move First offering.
- Close a high percentage of captive leads and manage a pipeline of at least 10-15 loans per month, primarily purchases with some refinances.
- Collaborate with other teams within Orchard, including Real Estate and Title Operations, to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
- Support weekend coverage once per month to ensure customers have access to support even on weekends.
Requirements
- At least 3+ years of lending experience and an active NMLS license or registration (required in Texas).
- Strong consultative sales skills to assist customers in achieving their financial goals.
- A passion for customer service and relationship building, ensuring both customers and agents stay informed, even outside regular business hours.
- Deep knowledge of guidelines for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, and the ability to provide high-quality pre-approvals/pre-qualifications (bonus for familiarity with non-QM programs and construction loans).
- Technology-savvy with the ability to adapt to new systems, particularly those like Blend and Byte (or similar platforms).

- Ability to work independently and manage a high volume of loan applications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with both customers and agents.

Pay
The average full-time fully ramped Loan Officer earns $125-175k per year, depending on performance.
