Summary

The Mortgage Lender is responsible for advising an array of products for real estate loans for one to four-family homes for customers. As the decision-making resource for the customer, the incumbent provides professional guidance to customers in their search for financing. Detailed knowledge of the many products offered is critical to allow proper evaluation of all loan prospects. The Mortgage Lender should maximize revenue generation by utilizing all cross-selling opportunities. Finally, the incumbent must protect the bank's loan assets by providing continual supervision for the loans under their accountability. Incumbents assigned to this Mortgage Lender role will be those on a guarantee or those who do not earn more than half of their total compensation in the form of commissions outlined by the Department of Labor.

What You Will Do

  • Develop referral sources to achieve and maintain an ongoing loan pipeline
  • Identify the customer needs and advise the client of their home loan options
  • Recommend differing products based on customers' needs and circumstances
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of many products offered to allow proper evaluation of all loan prospects
  • Know and follow the Arvest lending policy
  • Build customer relationships by actively listening to customers to discover clues that might reveal referral opportunities
  • Resolve all customer complaints personally or refer them to the proper area; forward a copy of all written complaints to the manager
  • Correspond with applicants, creditors, and third parties such as Title Company, Real Estate Agents, Insurance Agents, etc.
  • Communicate all important information and all changes to Arvest Mortgage
  • Prepare, present, or participate in seminars or information presentations for realtors, builders, etc.
  • Become active in area community programs
  • Stay current on all changes within the financial products industry and maintain a thorough knowledge of bank operations, credit and lending policies and procedures, and accounting and finance
  • Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties, including complete compliance training and adhering to internal procedures and controls; reporting any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations; and reporting any suspicious customer and/or account activity

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or completion of Arvest Foundations training or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of sales experience
  • 1 year of mortgage/real estate experience
  • Current NMLS SAFE Act Registration or the ability to be registered within 30 days
  • Relevant military experience is considered for veterans and transitioning service members
  • Ability to travel occasionally by themselves within the US, possibly overnight

Pay

Grade 13 Pay Range: $22.50 - $28.10 per hour

Schedule

Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm with ability to work additional hours as needed
