Mortgage Consultant

Job Description

The Mortgage Consultant is responsible for originating a variety of different types of loans, focusing on servicing existing customers. This involves:

• Responding to company-provided leads via phone from various sources.
• Engaging with consumers to determine their needs and offering appropriate products.
• Taking mortgage loan applications by phone and preparing effective loan proposals.
• OBTAINING all necessary information to close the loan, including credit reports, income verification, appraisals, etc.
• Maintaining compliance with the NewRez Code of Conduct.
• Performing related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Education And Experience Requirements

• Origination experience in the mortgage or banking industry required.
• 2+ years’ origination experience.
• Active NMLS license.
• A solid understanding of appraisals, title reports, and product guidelines.
• Experience utilizing persuasive communication skills and inside sales experience preferred.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
