Responsibilities
- Prepare all closing documents required to close mortgage loans, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate; follow up on any discrepancies.
- Ensure that all loans meet guidelines for quality and regulatory compliance and investor closing standards.
- Maintain communication with customers, the processing department, closing agents, realtors, and builders to promote positive business relationships and communicate loan status.
- Establish and maintain a thorough knowledge of all products and investor requirements to ensure quality closing packages and secondary market salability.
- Verify that loans close as scheduled.
- Review files prior to closing to verify that abstracts and/or title opinions are clear; forward copies to all parties involved; review all surveys, termite inspections, final inspections, and verify the accuracy of closing conditions.
- Close loans; input information into the loan origination system, prepare additional documentation, balance account for closing, prepare package for closing agent and/or customer, and ensures timely recording of all documents and disbursement of all funds.
- Prepare and explain closing requirements to closing agents and/or customer.
- Protect Bank collateral by reviewing and analyzing title work to verify that all liens are clear.
- Review and verify executed closing packages to ensure all documents are signed appropriately and all fees are included with the package.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience required.
- Thorough working knowledge of real estate documentation, policies, compliance, and procedures.
- High level of proficiency with mortgage loan processing and underwriting systems.
- Experience closing mortgage loans in New York and New Jersey required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Excellent customer service skills.
Pay
$60,000 TO $80,000 annually.
