About the role
Cyprus Credit Union is seeking an experienced Mortgage Advisor III to join their Mortgage Lending team at the West Jordan Corporate Center. This position offers an opportunity for a motivated mortgage professional to build relationships, grow a referral network, and provide trusted financial guidance to help members achieve homeownership.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted mortgage advisor by guiding members through the home financing process from initial consultation through loan closing.
- Conduct mortgage consultations, evaluate borrower qualifications, discuss financing options, and prepare complete loan application packages.
- Develop and cultivate referral relationships with Realtors, builders, financial advisors, and other community partners to generate new mortgage opportunities.
- Leverage both Credit Union-provided leads and self-generated business to meet and exceed production goals.
- Provide expert guidance on loan products, credit qualifications, rates, and lending requirements while delivering an exceptional member experience.
- Maintain proactive communication throughout the loan process and ensure all documentation and regulatory requirements are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Partner closely with processing, underwriting, branch teams, and leadership to ensure a smooth and timely loan experience.
- Promote additional Credit Union products and services that support members' overall financial well-being.
- Stay current on market trends, lending guidelines, compliance requirements, and local real estate activity to better serve members and referral partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and mortgage lending experience.
- Active NMLS registration required and must remain in good standing.
- Two or more years of residential mortgage origination experience required, with a demonstrated history of mortgage production and relationship-based business development.
- Experience working with Realtors, builders, and other referral partners is strongly preferred.
- Candidates should possess a strong understanding of mortgage products, underwriting guidelines, credit analysis, title and appraisal processes, and regulatory lending requirements.
- Successful candidates will have excellent communication, relationship-building, sales, and consultative interviewing skills, along with the ability to effectively manage a pipeline while delivering an outstanding member experience.
