Morning Newsletter Editor

Bloomberg Industry Group delivers top-tier, industry-leading news to professionals through newsletters. We're seeking an editor to join our early morning team, ensuring our newsletters reach inboxes across the tax, legal, government, and business sectors. You'll start at 5 a.m. to help launch the newsroom's day with timely, actionable, and engaging newsletters that equip subscribers with crucial tools and information.

Responsibilities

• Plan, pitch, execute, and promote stories that inform and engage audiences.
• Coach reporters on breaking impactful stories and selecting compelling feature ideas.
• Ensure deadlines are met and pitch ideas for videos and podcasts.
• Unpack complex legal and government actions, making them accessible and interesting.
• Collaborate with reporters and editors of diverse backgrounds and experience levels.
• Manage multiple stories, meet tight deadlines, and solve problems efficiently.
• Set high standards, lead by example, and guide reporters to strengthen their journalism.

Requirements

• Seven or more years of experience in journalism.
• Comfortable working an early morning shift (starting at 5 a.m.).
• Exceptional curiosity and news judgment for legal and government topics.
• Excellent editing and writing skills.
• Highly collaborative with strong communication and influence skills.
• Ability to manage change and work under tight deadlines.
• Self-starter with a commitment to high standards and mentorship.
• Bachelor’s degree required.

Pay

Compensation range: $100,000.00–$125,000.00. Placement within this range will be determined based on relevant experience, demonstrated skills, education, certifications, and geographic location.
