MONOSHELL OPERATOR
About the role
Howmet Aerospace’s Wichita Falls, TX facility has an opening for Monoshell Operators. Must be able to work rotating shifts. This Opening will be on a 6:48 p.m. to 6:48 a.m. shift (Rotating shifts work 2 on 2 off, 3 on 2 off, 2 on 3 off). Starting pay rate is $22.80 and tops out at $27.32 at 9 months. All offers are contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
Responsibilities
- Selects patterns based on production schedules and capacity of line.
- Checks for broken or poor-quality patterns.
- Logs necessary information on lot travelers to monitor sequence of dips.
- Performs the following basic processing steps, i.e., manually loads case on facecoat line, monitors robot to ensure mold is dipped/sanded in sequence, blows off excess sand after facecoats, monitors and applies code to hanger; monitors mold through cycle.
- Examines mold throughout cycle to ensure adequacy of coating and sanding.
- Performs required housekeeping tasks.
- Fills stucco towers.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Complies with all EHS rules related to the work environment.
- Works overtime when needed.
- Mold Prep: Unloads molds from automatic line at unload stations. Removes rubber gaskets from cups after all dip cycles are completed. Cleans imbedded stucco and sand from inside pour cups as required. Weighs molds from each truck to ensure minimum weight requirements before transporting truck to vac dry. Operates vacuum chambers and pin puller per Activity Instruction guidelines. Posts all required data - control charts, trouble reports, mold weights, etc. Performs required housekeeping tasks. Performs other duties as required. Operates freezers per Activity Instruction guidelines.
- Dewax: Performs dewax operation utilizing oven and/or steam dewax unit. Ensures area is well maintained. Logs necessary information to monitor input quantity and quality. Discards used wax from area. Monitors operation of equipment and temperature controls.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Basic Computer skills.
- Monoshell experience.

Must be able to read and interpret Product Criteria (PC) and Activity Instructions (AI). Must be able to function as a member of a team and be able to work under general supervision. Must be able to maintain expected quality levels.
