About the role
The Monitoring Technician is responsible for monitoring patients' rhythm and heart rate, and reporting relevant changes to the assigned nursing staff. They will also respond to alarms indicating potentially life-threatening rhythm changes using telemetric equipment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor up to 48 patients via telemetric equipment
- Report relevant changes in patients' rhythm and heart rate to assigned nursing staff
- Respond appropriately to alarms identifying potentially life-threatening rhythm changes
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of an approved arrhythmia or EKG interpretation class
- Completion of an approved arrhythmia or EKG interpretation class, knowledge of telemetry services, ability to determine appropriate course of action in more complex situations
- Prior telemonitoring experience preferred
Qualifications
- Current Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) issued by American Heart Association
- Current Advanced Cardiology Life Support Provider (ACLS) issued by American Heart Association
- National Telemetry Certification issued by National Telemetry Association (NTA)
Skills
- Must pass pre-employment arrhythmia test administered at Huntington Hospital
Pay
The estimated base rate for this position is $25.20 - $28.98. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
