Job Summary

The Monitor Technician PRN interprets cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias, maintains telemetry supplies, and maintains patient records according to hospital policy. They also perform continuous observation of cardiac telemetry monitors, interpret, document, and report data from telemetry monitor systems, prepare, run, document, and analyze rhythm strips, notify RNs/Charge RNs/LPNs of any changes, maintain an hourly log of each patient’s cardiac rate and rhythm, prepare shift reports, and review other technicians’ reports.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as CMT/Cardiac Tech or Monitor Technician preferred
  • Completion of a 12 lead EKG course is preferred
