Monitor Technician- FT Days

About the role

Kindred Hospital New Jersey - Rahway is a 34-bed long-term acute care hospital located on the 4th floor within the RWJ University Hospital in Rahway. The facility offers specialized care for extended recovery periods, partnering with patients' physicians and providing 24-hour clinical care.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accurate records of telemetry patients.
• Makes immediate notifications to RNs or supervisors of any detected rhythm changes.
• Assigns transmitters and wires, and sets up the monitor system for telemetry ordered patients.
• Troubleshoots transmitters and wires, and sets up the monitor system for telemetry ordered patients.
• Observes screen of cardiac monitor and listens for alarms to identify abnormal variations in heart rhythm.
• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local regulations for food safety and sanitation.

Requirements

• Must read, write, and speak fluent English.
• Must have good and regular attendance.
• Satisfactory score on EKG interpretation competency test.
• Ability to accurately identify cardiac rhythms and understand their significance.
• Approximately 0% of time required to travel.

Skills

• Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations for food safety and sanitation.
• Ability to accurately interpret cardiac rhythms.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred).
• Current BLS certification.
• EKG certification preferred.
• No prior experience required.

$18.71-$23.73/hr.
