Kindred Hospital Philadelphia - Havertown and Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) is a 66-bed hospital that offers intensive medical and rehabilitative care. The ARU is designed for individuals who have experienced debilitating effects from acute injuries, impairments, or illnesses. Located in a medical district near Darby Creek and West Chester Pike expressway, the facility partners with physicians to provide 24-hour clinical care seven days a week.
Job Summary
Maintains accurate records of telemetry patients and monitors heart rhythm patterns using telemetry equipment. Notifies RNs or supervisors of any abnormal variations in heart rhythm immediately.
Essential Functions
- Maintains accurate records of telemetry patients.
- Removes and cleans telemetry boxes when patients are discharged from telemetry.
- Immediately notifies RNs or supervisors of any rhythm changes.
- Assigns transmitters and wires and sets up the monitor system for all telemetry ordered patients.
- Troubleshoots transmitters and wires and sets up the monitor system for all telemetry ordered patients.
- Stays abreast of federal, state, and local regulations for food safety and sanitation.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations
- Must read, write, and speak fluent English.
- Must have good and regular attendance.
- Satisfactory score on EKG interpretation competency test.
- Able to accurately identify cardiac rhythms and understand their significance.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent, including education equivalent to completion of secondary school or demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the role. (Preferred)
Licenses/Certification
- Current BLS certification.
- EKG certification preferred.
