Monitor Technician - Flexi schedule

About the role

Sentara Obici Hospital is hiring a Monitor Technician - Flexi schedule. Observes, recognizes, interprets, evaluates, and documents EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients in order to detect deviations from patient's norm. Promptly notifies appropriate personnel of dysrhythmias. Operates and utilizes monitoring system to full capacity. Ensures proper and safe functioning of the telemetry equipment.

Responsibilities

• Ensures proper and safe functioning of the telemetry equipment.

Requirements

• Completion of a monitor technician surveillance program/course required upon hire.
• Candidates who have not completed a monitor technician surveillance program must complete a certificate program within 90 days of hire.
• Or 1 year experience in monitor technician surveillance within the last 5 years will be accepted in substitute of a monitor tech surveillance program/course.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent - Required
• 1 year experience in monitor technician surveillance within the last 5 years will be accepted in substitute of a monitor tech surveillance program/course

Skills

• Ability to observe, recognize, interpret, evaluate, and document EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients.
• Knowledge of monitoring systems and their proper operation.
• Ability to promptly notify appropriate personnel of dysrhythmias.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
